profile of Engr.Rashid Ahmed IPE-28,PE 10550/civil, candidate for Member Governing Body, PEC Elections (2021-24) to be held on 8 August 2021
Engr. Rashid Ahmed Chief Engineer is serving for the remote province of Gilgit-Baltistan, globally known as “Roof of the World” and “Jewel of Pakistan”. He relentlessly pursued the indicators of social dimensions of development through related interventions initiated to strengthen the public infrastructures, smoothen the interaction between public institutions & public at large. He also made endeavours to address the future development needs for the continued progress and prosperity to the inhabitants of the world’s most hard area to live and flourish in a healthy society according to the entire satisfaction of engineering standards.
He envisions the province of Gilgit Baltistan as a developed society, which would be enlightened in outlook with improved social indicators inclusive of maximum employment opportunities, highest possible fighting needs against natural disasters/calamities and development of tourism sector. Progresses achieved by him in the field of Engineering are evident from visible improvement in all human growth indicators. His efforts for Gilgit Baltistan are depicting focused approach in achieving progress of government by demolishing defiant bureaucratic inertia and introducing the professional dignity and harmony from the sentimental mind-set of so called “status quo”. He motivated the officialdom and important state authorities to move towards policy, planning and execution befitting the requirements of a developmental oriented dispensation.
In recognition of his professional achievements the Government of GB mandated him to perform the function of ex-officio Chief Professional Advisor wef 2015_20 and elevated him Chairman, Inspection Team of GB Government wef October 2019 to Dec 2020. He became member of Governing body of PEC for the two consecutive terms of 2012-2015 & 2015-2018, Convenor of Regional Enrolment Committee for Gilgit- Baltistan, and Member of various committees of PEC w.e.f 2005.
He is lifetime member of Pakistan Engineering Congress and Member of International Professional Engineer(PAK) in Civil Engineering.
